It's times like this that I wished I lived in Britain

I'm so behind on all the Doctor Who news.

Apparently, there's a Captain Jack spin-off in the works called Torchwood that'll air on BBC Three this fall. I don't know how I feel about that. On the one hand, Captain Jack is a cool character and I'm interested in seeing a show about his adventures. On the other, I can see myself not enjoying it because I'd be constantly troubled about the fact that there was no Doctor in it. Best to give it a shot and see, I guess.

Too bad they've scuttled the Rose Tyler spin-off. At least it would've had Billie Piper in it.

"Captain Jack?"

I thought you'd gone from talking about Dr. Who to talking about Pirates of the Car.. Carrib... Caribb..

That Johnny Depp movie.

I know. It's very confusing.

Before the Captain Jack (can't even remember his last name right now) episodes came on Sci Fi, all my "with it" friends who'd seen bootlegs of the UK showings were all talking about Captain Jack and I was all, "Why are we suddenly talking about Johnny Depp?"

He's a cool character, but he doesn't deserve that name.
